Speaking with journalists in Zanzibar
today, Zanzibar chief Statistic unit Khamis Ahmada Shauri said the
rise of the rate of inflation ,has been
contributed by fall of production of domestic
goods and food staff.
The main
factor which has attributed to law standard of
production parallel to the rise of the
price of food price and other commodities is the 25
general election ,and its cancellation, he noted.
‘’ The inflation of Energy
and mineral resources Is another factor which
contributes to the change for the movement
effecting the rate of inflation , especially
in the urban areas’’ he alleged.
Due to the increase of
rate of inflation and the law production of international goods ,
Zanzibar has been obliged to import great
percentage of food outside, which also contribute
to the rise of price , he further said.
Office of Statistics has
proposed to the government , through Zanzibar
Commission of planning to work together to find solution,
to curb the rate of inflation, affecting the lives of
ordinary individuals, Shauri said.
The government in cooperation with
union government is in the process of
working together with businessmen and ministry of trade , to find a solution
of minimizing the fall of Tanzanian currency which
has largely affected by the rise of USA dollar,
he said.
Zanzibar has experienced the
shoot up inflation rate of 8.7
percent in the
month of October , for
the first time causing the price of various goods and food staffs ,
